About Jocelyn
I bring over five years of experience as a nutrition counselor, specializing in the care of pregnant and postpartum women, as well as children under the age of five. As a mom to a spirited four-year-old and a proud dog mom to two beautiful female cocker spaniels, I understand firsthand the challenges and joys of motherhoodâand how essential it is to nourish both body and mind through each stage of life. Born in Cuba and raised in the richness of Latin culture, I immigrated to the United States in 2008. It was during my first college nutrition course that I discovered my passion for the science of food and its critical role in supporting our bodyâs function and balance. That moment shaped my journey and continues to inspire the way I approach nutrition today. My goal is to empower individuals with practical, evidence-based guidance tailored to their unique needs. Iâm here to support you with empathy, cultural understanding, and a realistic approach to creating lifelong healthy habits.
Approach to care
My approach to nutrition is grounded in the belief that sustainable progressârather than drastic overhaulsâis the most effective path to long-term health and well-being. My mission is to support clients in building a positive, sustainable relationship with foodâone that enhances both physical health and overall quality of life. Working with me means entering a supportive, judgment-free space where your unique experiences are respected and valued. I recognize that you are the expert of your own life. My role is not to prescribe rigid rules or tell you what you âshouldâ do, but rather to collaborate with you to find strategies that are realistic, flexible, and personalized to your needs. Health is not a destination, but a journeyâone that should be rooted in self-awareness, balance, and compassion. I am here to meet you where you are, walk alongside you, and help you navigate your path toward a healthier, more empowered version of yourself.
Your first session with Jocelyn
During our initial session, my goal is to get to know youâyour story, your health journey, and what you hope to achieve through our work together. We'll talk about your medical history, current nutrition and lifestyle habits, and any other factors that may be influencing your well-being. We'll explore the challenges youâre currently facing and begin to envision where youâd like to be. This conversation is also a great opportunity for us to set clear expectations, both for you as the client and for me as your dietitian, so we can build a collaborative and supportive relationship from the start. Before we wrap up, weâll work together to create a realistic and meaningful mini-goal to focus on between sessionsâsomething small but impactful that supports your bigger vision for your health.
