About Jocelyn

Hi! My name is Jocelyn and I am a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator with many years of experience in private practice. I have worked in a variety of settings providing medical nutrition therapy to children, adolescents and adults. I have a wide range of experience specializing in prediabetes, type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, kidney disease, gastrointestinal disorders, neurological disorders, bariatric surgery (pre and post surgery), weight management, eating disorders, emotional eating and prenatal nutrition. I understand the barriers and struggles that often come with managing a chronic condition and am passionate about finding ways to help you create sustainable healthy habits for the long term so that you can achieve your health goals.

Approach to care

My approach to care is centered around active listening while educating and inspiring with an open-mind, empathy and compassion. I believe that food is a pleasure of life and all foods fit into a well-balanced diet. We will work together as a team to review your bloodwork and other health measures to create realistic, achievable goals while improving your health, nutritional status as well as your quality of life. I am confident that you will feel heard and supported. Looking forward to working with you!

Your first session with Jocelyn

During your first session, we will complete a comprehensive nutrition assessment. This will include your medical history, any medication or supplements you are taking, current eating habits, your relationship with food and body image, lifestyle routine, sleep patterns, cultural preferences, food likes and dislikes, food allergies, food sensitivities, what has worked for you in the past as well as your goals and any challenges that you have faced. At the end of the session, we will set a few short and long-term nutrition-related goals along with a plan of how best to achieve them.
