About Jodi
My name is Jodi Fulayter. I am a registered/licensed dietitian in the state of Illinois for 28 years; 25 of those years now has been specialized in kidney health, including conditions linked to it, such as diabetes and hypertension. Also heart health, gut health, liver disease, tube feedings and IV nutrition, and general healthy eating, weight management and aging. And how to do this in real life ways.
Approach to care
Recent research is showing how powerful nutrition can be in protecting your kidney function. My approach is to teach about what to include, not just what to avoid in a balanced, real life way. Whether you see me for kidney health or any other reason, we can talk about food choices in each category, brands, cooking, supplements, and I can help interpret lab values from blood work you may have done at the doctors office.
Your first session with Jodi
After getting full health/lifestyle/diet history, we will explore what your nutrition goals are- what you've tried in past, what has been successful for you and areas you struggle with; or maybe it's a new condition you want to understand and learn how to manage through proper nutrition. Together we will come up with a few small goals. Future sessions will check progress, and add or change other goals as needed.
