About Johna
Hi, Iām Johna. Iām a registered dietitian and certified intuitive eating counselor with 20+ years of experience, and Iāve lived through many of the same things youāre juggling. I worked and went to school in my teens and twenties. I balanced family and career in my 30s and beyond. Now Iām navigating perimenopause and the sandwich generation. I know what it feels like to care for everyone else while your own self-care slips. Iām here to help you build habits that support your health, energy, and peace of mind.
Approach to care
I take a judgment-free, patient-centered approach rooted in intuitive eating, self-compassion, and a weight-neutral philosophy. We focus on your overall health, not the number on the scale. I help you tune into your bodyās cues so eating feels easier and more sustainable. My number one goal is to help you improve your relationship with food and your body. I use an add-on approach. We look at what you can add to your dayāmore nourishment, energy, satisfaction, and supportāinstead of taking things away. Whether youāre tired of dieting, managing a chronic condition, or wanting more balance, Iāll help you build habits around food, movement, sleep, and mindset. And weāll make sure they fit your real life.
Your first session with Johna
Your first session is all about you: your story and what you need to feel better. I will ask you: what are YOUR health goals? Not your partnerās, doctorās, or motherās goals ā YOURS. Weāll chat about your health history, daily routines, and eating patterns. This helps me understand the full picture. Together, weāll build a flexible, realistic plan that fits your life, not the other way around. Youāll leave feeling heard, supported, and confident with simple steps you can start right away.

When Iām not working with clients, youāll usually find me reading, writing, walking, praying, doing art projects with my kids, spending time with family, or listening to music. I love all kinds of music and itās what gets me energized in the kitchen. My food personality? I didnāt start eating veggies until I was around 10, I can eat the same breakfast for weeks without flinching, Iām always up for a leftover challenge, and I love the occasional girl dinner and TV night.
