About Josette

Hi there! I’m a Registered Dietitian with 25 years of experience and a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. I’m passionate about helping people live healthier, happier lives through positive nutrition and practical lifestyle changes. My areas of focus include diabetes, cardiovascular risk reduction, and women’s health — especially during the perimenopause and menopause transitions, which I’m also learning more about from personal experience. Outside of work, I enjoy yoga, walking, and swimming (fun fact — I learned to swim at age 41!). I’m also working on building more strength training into my routine (working on it). I love reading historical fiction, traveling, and challenging myself to eat more fruits and vegetables. I know I’m not perfect — and I don’t expect my clients to be either.

Approach to care

I became a dietitian because I truly love helping people become the best versions of themselves. I believe in focusing on what can be added, not what has to be taken away. I don’t lecture; I listen. I believe in meeting people where they are on their journey. Nothing is “good,” “bad,” or “off-limits” — I see food choices as existing on a spectrum. I like to understand my patients’ viewpoints, hopes, and dreams, and help give them the tools to reach their goals. I’m upbeat, compassionate, and committed to helping people find their internal motivation. I believe that knowledge is power — the more you know, the better you can feel.

Your first session with Josette

In our first session, I’ll take the time to get to know you — your lifestyle, health history, goals, and what’s most important to you. Together, we’ll talk through what’s working, where you’d like support, and what realistic changes could make a difference right away. I use motivational interviewing techniques and help you set SMART goals (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound) so we can create a plan that fits naturally into your life. My goal is to make you feel heard, supported, and confident about your next steps — without judgment or pressure.
