About Josh

Hi! I’m Josh Survis, MS, RDN, a sports dietitian currently working with Division I athletes at Fresno State. I specialize in working with active individuals of all levels; from competitive athletes to everyday gym-goers, while also supporting people who are simply looking to improve their health and relationship with food. I enjoy helping clients reach a wide range of goals, including weight loss, muscle gain, fueling for everything from your first 5K to your 10th marathon, and navigating new medical diagnoses that require a specialized diet. No matter your background or experience, my goal is to help you feel confident in how you fuel your body.

Approach to care

My approach to nutrition is centered around creating a sustainable lifestyle, not a short-term diet. I don’t believe in eliminating your favorite foods. Instead, we focus on building realistic habits and finding practical ways to add more nutrient-dense foods that support performance, energy, and overall well-being. I aim to meet you where you are, taking into account your goals, preferences, schedule, and past experiences with nutrition. Together, we’ll create a personalized plan that fits your life, feels achievable, and supports long-term success.

Your first session with Josh

During your first session, we’ll take time to get to know you, your goals, training or activity level, health history, lifestyle, and any challenges you’ve faced with nutrition in the past. This is a judgment-free space where we’ll focus on what’s realistic and meaningful for you. By the end of the session, you can expect to leave with clear, actionable steps and a plan tailored to your needs, whether that’s fueling for performance, supporting body composition goals, or managing a medical condition. From there, we’ll continue building on that foundation together at a pace that works for you.
