About Joy

I am passionate about helping individuals create sustainable lifestyle changes that improve their quality of life. With over 17 years of experience in the health field, I specialize in working with individuals managing chronic conditions such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, and weight-related challenges. Having personal experience with my own weight loss journey, I understand the struggles and complexities that come with it. My professional background includes working as a Registered Dietitian in a hospital setting and developing counseling expertise alongside private practice practitioners.

Approach to care

My approach to care begins where you are. I align my counseling with your needs, values, and lifestyle. Together, we will build skills to navigate challenges, overcome obstacles, and turn new behaviors into lasting habits. I believe meaningful change can happen without giving up your favorite foods or family traditions—often through small, achievable adjustments. My goal is for you to feel supported, empowered, and inspired as you make changes that enhance your overall well-being.

Your first session with Joy

In our first session, I’ll focus on getting to know you. We’ll talk about your lifestyle habits, what you enjoy, your medical history, and your current nutrition patterns. I’ll help you identify what has worked for you in the past and gently explore the challenges you’re facing that brought you to our work together. By the end of our first session, you will have identified at least one long-term goal and meaningful short-term goals based on your readiness to begin making changes toward your health goals.
