About Joy

Hi, I’m Joy—a Registered Dietitian and Certified LEAP Therapist. I help people calm their gut, boost energy, and feel confident in their food choices. I specialize in IBS, prediabetes, and Type 2 Diabetes, using a personalized, evidence-based approach to reduce symptoms and improve health. I believe nutrition is both a science and an art. No two bodies are the same, so I listen closely, look at the full picture, and fine-tune each plan based on your goals and what works in real life. Expect a supportive space, honest guidance, and a little humor—because gut issues aren’t always easy to talk about. We’ll celebrate your wins: fewer symptoms, more energy, and the freedom to enjoy life again. Outside of work, I’m a mom of six, grandma, and backyard chicken wrangler with 20 hens. If you're ready for a compassionate, personalized approach—I’d love to support you.

Approach to care

My approach to care is simple: no two bodies are the same, so your nutrition plan shouldn’t be either. Whether you're managing gut issues like IBS, working through prediabetes or Type 2 Diabetes, or just trying to feel better in your own body—I’ll meet you where you are. We’ll take into account your health conditions, your lifestyle, and what actually matters to you. Over the years, I’ve worked with a wide range of clients—from busy parents and professionals to athletes prepping for long rides and swim meets. What they all had in common? They needed a plan that fit real life. I blend evidence-based strategies with plenty of flexibility and education, so you’re not just told what to do—you actually understand why it works. My goal is to give you the tools, support, and encouragement to move forward with confidence. We'll work together to create sustainable changes that lead to real results—using food as a tool to help you feel stronger, calmer, and more like yourself again.

Your first session with Joy

In our first session, my goal is to help you feel completely at ease—like you're talking to someone who truly gets it. We'll have an honest conversation about what's going on with your health, what your goals are, and what’s felt hard or frustrating in the past. I’ll ask questions like, “What do you really want to feel better about?” or “What’s gotten in the way before?”—because your story matters. We’ll talk through any current roadblocks, past wins, and what’s most important to you. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all plan. I want to understand what works in your real life. From there, we’ll build a doable next step together—one that feels realistic and supportive. And just so you know, I’ll be here for encouragement and accountability, every step of the way.
