About Julia
Iām a registered dietitian with over 20 years of experience in behavioral health, specializing in weight- and nutrition-inclusive care. Iāve held leadership roles including Vice President of Clinical Nutrition and Senior Director of Nutrition and Wellness, where Iāve helped develop thoughtful, evidence-based programs that support meaningful healing. Iām a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist Consultant (CEDS-C), Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, certified in Nutrition Psychiatry, and a Licensed Body Positive facilitator. Iāve presented nationally and internationally on topics such as the connection between nutrition and brain health, integrating nutrition psychiatry into eating disorder treatment, intuitive eating, and food exposure work. At the core of my work is a commitment to helping people heal their relationship with food and their bodies. I believe nutrition care should feel compassionate, supportive, and empoweringāand that perspective guides everything I do.
Approach to care
My approach to care is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and evidence-based practice. I work from a weight-inclusive, nutrition-neutral framework that prioritizes mental well-being, body trust, and sustainable nourishment over numbers, rules, or rigid food plans. I see food as more than fuelāitās deeply connected to brain health, emotions, culture, and lived experience. I integrate intuitive eating, nutrition psychiatry, and eating disorderāinformed care to meet each person where they are. Rather than focusing on perfection, I emphasize curiosity, flexibility, and progress that feels realistic and supportive. Healing may look like restoring regular meals, easing food fears, improving energy or mood, or simply feeling more at peace around food. My goal is to create a non-shaming, supportive space where people feel heard, respected, and empowered to rebuild a trusting relationship with food and their bodies.
Your first session with Julia
In our first session, my priority is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and supported. Weāll take time to get to know you beyond foodāyour experiences, concerns, goals, and what led you to seek nutrition support. We may talk about your relationship with food, your body, daily routines, and any past experiences with dieting or treatment, always at a pace that feels right for you. Thereās no pressure to have all the answers or to make changes right away. This is a collaborative, non-judgmental conversation focused on understanding what you need and what support might feel most helpful right now. Together, weāll gently begin identifying next steps that feel realistic, respectful, and sustainable. My goal for our first session is to help you feel supported, grounded, and confident that you donāt have to navigate this journey alone.

Hobbies
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy slowing down and finding creativity in everyday moments. I love reading, spending time in the kitchen cooking, and trying new recipes simply for the joy of it. These hobbies help me stay grounded, curious, and inspired, and they often influence how I think about nourishment, creativity, and balance in my everyday life.
