About Julia
I grew up in a small agricultural town in a family-focused community. My interest in dietetics was shaped by my motherâs experience with cancer and my fatherâs challenges with heart disease and diabetes. I earned my degree in Clinical Nutrition from UC Davis and completed my didactic training at San Francisco State University. Iâve worked in both hospital and outpatient settings, caring for individuals with a variety of nutrition-related conditions, including diabetes, kidney disease, and weight management. I have a special interest in supporting patients pursuing weight loss and improved glucose management, including those using GLP-1 medications.
Approach to care
I take a holistic, compassionate approach to nutrition counseling, focusing on you as a whole person rather than just your condition. I donât subscribe to diet culture and believe there are no âbadâ foods - nutrition is about balance, enjoyment, and what works for your lifestyle. I aim to provide practical, sustainable strategies that fit naturally into your everyday life, while offering support and guidance to help you reach your health goals in a way that feels empowering and realistic.
Your first session with Julia
In our first visit, Iâll spend time getting to know you - your health history, routines, challenges, and what youâd like to achieve. Weâll talk through where youâre at now and where youâd like to go, then work together to create a plan that feels doable and motivating. Youâll leave with clear next steps that fit your lifestyle, whether youâre managing a health condition, focusing on weight loss, or navigating lifestyle changes related to GLP-1 therapy.
