About Julia

Hello! I’m Julia Fickenscher, an anti-diet Registered Dietitian with a passion for helping individuals embrace a balanced, self-care approach to food, nutrition and health. With three years of experience in the field, I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients, including those managing chronic diseases, those in long-term patient care, and LGBTQ+ centered outpatient care. I specialize in providing weight-inclusive, anti-diet guidance that encourages a nourishing relationship with food and a emphasis on body neutrality. I like to empower clients to make informed, joyful choices about their nutrition without the constraints of restrictive dieting and food rules.

Approach to care

I am here to provide nutrition education and support on your individualized journey with food and health. I use motivational interviewing and non-judgmental practices to meet you where you are at and guide you towards where you want to be. I utilize a weight-neutral perspective that takes the focus away from dieting and restriction and guides you towards Intuitive Eating and peace with food. I help clients manage health concerns such as disordered eating, Diabetes, hypertension, and more in a way that is non-restrictive and sustainable in the long-term.

Your first session with Julia

Our first session will allow me to get an idea of your relationship with food, your health history, and your typical eating habits. Together, we will establish a plan for future sessions and both short and long-term goals that allow you to embrace food neutrality and prioritize nutrition for self-care. I welcome you to bring any questions, concerns, or perspectives as we get to know each other!
