About Julia
I am a Registered Dietitian with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from NC State University, a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from East Carolina University, and a Master of Science in Nutrition from Stony Brook University. I have worked in the inpatient and outpatient clinical settings providing counseling and education for heart disease, diabetes, weight management, oncology, and other disease states. I am passionate about creating healthy habits through mindful eating, budget friendly recipes, and counseling individuals on small meaningful changes. I enjoy cooking, exercising, reading, and gardening.
Approach to care
My approach to nutrition counseling and education is to work with an individual's strengths in order to achieve the goals discussed in each appointment. I believe that small changes can be very impactful to one's nutrition and health journey. I believe that long term success is rooted in a balance of healthy nutritional changes, while not being restrictive, and mindful eating.
Your first session with Julia
During your first session, we will focus on a comprehensive nutrition assessment reviewing your health and nutrition history as well as discussing at length the goals that you wish to achieve for yourself. Throughout the session, the goal will be to create an easy and open dialogue in order to assist you with your goals for your nutrition journey.
