About Julia

Hello! My name is Julia Prence. I'm a Registered Dietitian based in Houston with a little over seven years of experience. I hold a Master of Science in Nutrition from Texas Woman’s University and am licensed in the state of Texas. I have a diverse background working in both inpatient and outpatient care settings. My passion is meeting patients where they are by providing evidence-based care and finding practical ways to improve their health. With a background as a retail dietitian, I also love helping patients navigate the grocery store to find products that fit their lifestyle.

Approach to care

My care philosophy centers on you as a whole person. I combine evidence-based science with empathy, warmth, and clear, actionable steps. We'll co-create practical strategies that fit your lifestyle, prioritizing sustainable habits over quick fixes. I practice a weight-neutral, HAES-informed approach that focuses on behavior, nourishment, and well-being rather than a number on the scale. Education matters, so I'll share the why behind our plan and invite questions, ensuring you feel supported and empowered to stay curious.

Your first session with Julia

Our first appointment is all about you. We'll review your medical history, discuss short-term goals, and look at lab work or biometrics together. You don't need to have it all figured out yet; this is a collaborative conversation designed to understand your relationship with food and your daily routines. By the end, we'll set 2-3 realistic goals and outline the steps to start moving toward them, in a warm, non-judgmental space where your progress matters.
