About Julianne
After starting college in 2015, thinking I wanted to be a chef, I quickly realized that I wanted to do more to help others. I found out that my university had a culinary nutrition program and, since I've always had a love for science, I felt that it would be the best path for me. 10 years later, I am so grateful that I've had the opportunity to combine my love of food with my passion for helping others. I've spent most of my career in clinical settings, like long-term care and acute care hospitals, but I'm a firm believer that providing regular counseling sessions is the best way to help people reach their nutrition goals.
Approach to care
When it comes to nutrition, I will never tell my clients that I have a quick fix for their problems. Whether you are looking to lose weight, gain weight, manage an illness/disease, or just improve your overall health, you will always need to make gradual lifestyle changes to sustain those goals. My role as a dietitian is to help you identify areas in your diet, and your life, where you can make those changes and be a resource for accountability.
Your first session with Julianne
My focus during initial appointments is simply to get to know my clients. I will always ask about your diet, your goals, and any medical conditions, but I also want to learn about your day-to-day life. The goal is to create a plan that takes into consideration your schedule, your family, your preferences, and anything else that might affect your ability to put certain interventions into place.
