About Julie
I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. I have advanced training in the field of diabetes in addition to years of experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings working with patients with a variety of other chronic disease states and nutrition concerns. I’m a certified insulin pump trainer for OmniPod and Tandem and also have extensive knowledge and experience with continuous glucose monitors. Aside from my professional experience, I have my own experience as a patient with gestational diabetes during pregnancy and a history of disordered eating in my teenage/early adult years. I look forward to working with you!
Approach to care
I strongly believe that nutrition is not “one size fits all”. I always get to know my patients and build a relationship with them so I can be sure they are being provided with the best patient-centered care. My patients will always have autonomy when it comes to their care. You can feel confident that I will meet you wherever you’re at and we will move forward together to reach your goals.
Your first session with Julie
You can expect to have my full attention during your first session as I get to know you better and begin building a trusting provider/patient relationship. I will ask you questions to get a clear understanding of your history and current wants, needs, and goals. By the end of your first session, I like to have at least one tangible goal set for you to work on before our next session. Remember that these sessions are about you - I always encourage my patients to participate in their care in however they see fit.
