About Kara
I have been a registered dietitian for more than 25 years and have worked with children, teenagers and adults throughout my career. I strongly believe that being healthy means feeling your best, and that eating is one of the most important ways you can take good care of yourself. And YOU are worth taking good care of!
Approach to care
My approach to nutrition counseling stems from my belief that establishing and maintaining a healthy relationship with food is key. Eating well to support your physical health is paramount, and this can be done in a way that does not sacrifice your emotional well-being. Foods are not good or bad, they are just different. We need to eat a variety of foods to be well-nourished, and all foods can fit into a balanced way of life.
Your first session with Kara
In our first session, I will ask questions to get to know you and what you are looking to get out of our time together. I'll have you walk me through what a typical day is like for you, with regard to food and eating. I will make some suggestions, but you will decide what we focus on. We will set some preliminary goals and establish a plan for follow up visits.
