About Kara
Food and the science behind it captured my attention early on, which led me to earn an MS in Clinical Nutrition and dual BS degrees in Dietetics and Nutrition and Food Science. After two years working in hospital settings, I bring bedside experience into practical counseling. I practice as an RDN and hold LDN licensure, and outside of clinic life you'll often find me baking or tending my vegetable garden. I enjoy turning evidence into simple habits that fit your day-to-day life.
Approach to care
Science guides the recommendations I share, and empathy shapes how we apply them. I work from a weight-neutral, health-focused lens, honoring the whole person, not a number on a scale. Together we'll translate research into clear, realistic steps, focusing on sustainable habits over quick fixes. I prioritize listening, teaching practical skills, and offering direct, actionable plans so you feel confident and supported as we make lasting changes.
Your first session with Kara
We'll begin by reviewing your medical history so I understand the full picture, including any treatments or medications that matter for nutrition. This is a judgment-free conversation, and you don't need to have all the answers. We'll talk about your daily routines, wins, and frustrations, then establish one or two short-term goals that feel doable. You'll leave with clear next steps and a plan we can adjust together as you progress.
