About Karalii
Hello! I'm Karalii (I go by Kara and use she or they pronouns). I'm a Black, queer, neurodivergent registered dietitian grounded in food justice, HAES (Health at Every Size) principles, and radical compassion. I have a special interest in working with neurodivergent adults. As an ADHDer myself, I know that traditional nutrition advice often doesn't translate to our lived experience. Whether you're navigating chronic health conditions, trying to build a more peaceful relationship with food, or just overwhelmed by all the conflicting nutrition messages out there, I'm here to offer realistic, affirming care that centers your humanity, not perfection.
Approach to care
My approach to nutrition is present, flexible, and person-centered. We'll work together to find strategies that are sustainable for YOU, in YOUR real life - not one-size fits-all solutions or rigid food rules. As a queer and Black provider, I understand how deeply systems of oppression impact our relationships with food, health, and our bodies. I practice through a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and neurodiversity-affirming lens, honoring your lived experience and body wisdom at every step. I aim to create a space that's shame-free, collaborative, and rooted in radical care - because you deserve that.
Your first session with Karalii
Our first session is all about getting to know you. We'll talk all about what's going on in your world; physically, emotionally, environmentally, and what kind of support you're looking for. There's no pressure to be "ready" or have it all figured out. I'll be asking a lot of questions as a part of a nutrition assessment, which includes exploring your health and food history, relationship with food, digestion, routines, and more. It's structured, but I aim to make it feel like a real conversation; collaborative, respectful, and centered on you. Expect a judgement-free space where we take it at your pace and build toward small, realistic goals that feel aligned with your body, lifestyle, preferences, and values.
