About Kari
As a Registered Dietitian, I am passionate about helping individuals achieve their health and wellness goals through realistic, sustainable changes. "All-or-nothing" approaches to nutrition don't last, and often times leave us feeling defeated. Instead, I focus on empowering my patients to give themselves grace, and make specific, manageable adjustments that fit their unique needs and preferences.
Approach to care
My goal is to provide support with managing chronic conditions, like diabetes, so you can live the life you want without feeling overwhelmed. Building positive habits, that are both practical and achievable, will be the focus. I look at weight loss as a "side effect" of positive behavior change, and not necessarily the main goal. We'll work together on setting specific, achievable goals that will have the most impact on your overall health.
Your first session with Kari
During our first session, I will learn more about your nutrition goals and personal preferences with food. I'll find out more about your medical diagnoses, current medications and your past history with seeing dietitians, if relevant. I'll also ask about other areas of your health, like physical activity, sleep and stress. In addition, it will be a chance for you to get to know me so you feel comfortable continuing forward. We will talk through specific needs and personal goals, and together we will make a plan for future sessions so that you create the healthy lifestyle that you want and deserve.
