About Karina
Hi, I’m Karina. I have 6 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian and I earned my MS in Human Nutrition from California State University Northridge. I’ve practiced in private practice, community health, clinical/hospital settings, and outpatient pediatric endocrinology, which gives me a broad view of how food supports families at every stage. When I’m not working, you’ll find me baking sourdough, walking with my dog, or playing fetch. I’m passionate about helping people change habits, and I’m grateful to support you with warmth and collaboration. My credentials include MS, CDCES, and RDN. I additionally have training in application of the low-FODMAP diet (Monash University), SOS Approach to Feeding (Sequential Oral Sensory), Motivational Interviewing, and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral therapy).
Approach to care
My care philosophy is rooted in evidence-based practice and genuine warmth. We’ll use science-informed strategies, tailored to your life so changes feel doable. I follow Health At Every Size principles, focusing on healthy behaviors and wellbeing rather than a number on the scale. Together, we’ll set clear, actionable steps and track progress in a way that respects your pace. I view health holistically and compassionately, helping you understand how food, sleep, stress, mental health, and routine fit together for lasting change.
Your first session with Karina
Our first appointment is all about you and creating a supportive foundation. We’ll start with a warm, non-judgmental conversation to explore your relationship with food, your history, routines, goals, and most importantly, understanding your values. You don’t need to have it all figured out yet; we’ll learn what matters most to you and what will make the changes feel doable. By the end, we’ll establish 1–2 realistic short-term goals and outline a practical plan for taking the next steps together.
