About Karla

After 31 years as a Registered Dietitian I've worked in hospitals, community health, and private practice, and I bring that breadth of experience to every visit. I hold an MA in Professional Counseling and practice as an RDN and LDN, which helps me blend nutrition science with real conversation about feelings, habits, and life. When I am not meeting with patients you'll find me hiking, reading, taking photos, or spending time with family. I enjoy helping people create sustainable changes that actually fit into their daily life.

Approach to care

Food and health are personal, so I use evidence-based strategies delivered with warmth and honesty. I practice from a Health At Every Size perspective, weight-neutral and behavior-focused, because lasting change comes from practical habits not quick fixes. We'll work together to translate science into clear, doable steps, while honoring the whole person, including mental and emotional wellbeing. I aim to educate and empower you, so you leave each visit knowing why a plan works and how to make it stick.

Your first session with Karla

During the initial visit we'll take time to review your medical history, current lab work and biometrics, and the patterns that shape your relationship with food. This is a judgement-free conversation, and you don't need to have everything figured out. We'll identify one or two short-term goals and begin building a meal plan that feels realistic for your life. Expect clear, practical next steps and a supportive space where we'll adjust the plan together as you progress.
