About Karla
I've been a dietitian nutritionist for 18 years! I have worked in many settings but mostly in a clinical/hospital setting for 14 years, from the ICU to food safety to private practices working with GLP-1s, my experiences have helped me set the way in which I practice today. I have experience and enjoy working with people of all ages. I am a certified intuitive eating counselor and have a certificate of training in pediatrics and adults with obesity.
Approach to care
Hey there! I'm all about helping you make healthy lifestyle changes. We'll chat about food and beverages, but we'll also dive into your eating behaviors. This way, we can help you trust your hunger, fullness, and satisfaction cues when it comes to eating. We can also tackle emotional or external cued eating and I'll share some handy tips to manage these. I believe in looking at you as a whole person, so we can also set goals around physical activity, stress, and sleep. My focus is on progression (not perfections) and lifestyle changes, and I'm here to support you with compassion and the goal to help you feel empowered with your health changes. Let's do this together!
Your first session with Karla
You will share your journey with health, food and lifestyle with me and let me know what your health goals are. We'll chat about moving towards more nutrient-dense food choices and making some behavior changes. Together, we'll set realistic goals that you can work towards. It's all about progress, not perfection, with working towards an ultimate goal that you will carry on as a lifestyle choice because you feel better doing it.
