About Katelyn
Hi there! I'm Katelyn, a registered dietitian and (mostly) retired professional figure skater with a background in public health, clinical nutrition, and mental health nutrition. I'm originally from Michigan, but now call Florida home with my husband and two babies - one human and one golden doodle. Through my clinical work, I’ve supported individuals navigating a wide range of eating patterns and nutrition concerns, including disordered eating and complex relationships with food. These experiences have shaped my compassionate, trauma-informed approach to nutrition counseling. I recognize that many factors — including stress, life experiences, cultural influences, relationships, and past dieting — can affect how we relate to food, and I aim to meet each client with empathy, respect, and care for their unique story.
Approach to care
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by nutrition advice, struggling with your relationship with food, or simply unsure where to start, you’re not alone. My goal is to help you cut through the noise and build a way of eating that feels supportive, sustainable, and aligned with your life and your unique goals — not another diet. When we work together, you can expect a supportive and non-judgmental space where we approach nutrition changes with curiosity and flexibility. Together, we gently challenge diet culture messages, make room for all foods in a balanced way, and focus on adding nourishing foods that help you feel your best rather than relying on restriction or rigid rules. My goal is to help you develop confidence around food, reconnect with your body’s needs, and build habits that support your health in a way that feels realistic and sustainable.
Your first session with Katelyn
We'll spend our first session diving into what brings you here -- your nutrition goals or concerns, health history, challenges, and what you'd like to accomplish with your nutrition. It is important to me to get know you, so that my guidance and recommendations can be tailored specifically to your needs as an individual. I'll ask questions about your daily routines and patterns, what you typically eat for meals and snacks, and how you like to shop for or prepare your food. Together, we'll set some goals, and I'll support you to achieve them - whether through meal planning or recipe ideas, nutrition education, problem solving, or accountability. I'm here to listen, support, guide, and cheer you on. We'll work on building healthy habits gradually and keep building on your goals as we work together.
