About Katharine
I am a Registered Rietitian Nutritionist (MS, RDN, LDN) and a Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) with extensive experience in both clinical and residential settings. Currently, I serve as the Director of Nutrition at Blue Ridge Eating Disorder Care Center, where I oversee nutrition services, develop and implement education programs, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support complex eating and medical needs. I have specialized experience in nutrition, focusing on critical care and complex medical conditions in adult and adolescent patients. My specialties include eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, OSFED, binge eating), emotional eating, diabetes and prediabetes management, gut health, heart health, GERD/acid reflux, tube feeding (EN), and total parenteral nutrition (TPN). I am passionate about combining evidence-based practices with individualized care to support clients in achieving both physical and emotional wellness.
Approach to care
I take a holistic, HAES aligned, and research-informed approach to nutrition care. My philosophy centers on fostering a positive relationship with food, supporting intuitive eating practices, and promoting accountability while respecting each client’s unique journey. I prioritize understanding your individual health goals, challenges, and lifestyle to create a plan that is both practical and sustainable.
Your first session with Katharine
During your first session, we will review your medical history, current nutrition practices, and any specific health goals or concerns. I will assess your current relationship with food and discuss strategies tailored to your needs, whether that includes managing an eating disorder, supporting gut health, or addressing diabetes or heart health concerns. Together, we will develop a personalized plan and set achievable goals to guide your next steps in a supportive, non-judgmental environment.
