About Katherine
I have been a registered dietitian for over 7 years and a yoga teacher for over 4. I am most passionate about guiding you into the personal power that you have to improve your health and well-being by cultivating a relationship with your body and self that is rooted in connection, respect, and loving partnership. I want you to see that food and lifestyle practices get to be tools you choose to care for yourself, to add joy to your life and life to your days. It doesn't have to be rooted in fear or punishment or overwhelm. It gets to be easy. It gets to feel good. And so do you.
Approach to care
My approach to care is one that sees you as the entire human being that you are - mind and emotions, physical body, and the unique you. I fuse together my role as a dietitian and role as a yoga teacher by using evidenced-based nutrition to care for your body's physical needs and mind-body practices to connect you to your body so you can identify and honor your unique needs, to dismantle the mindsets keeping you stuck in maladaptive patterns, and to heal and improve the relationship you have with your body, with food, and with yourself as a whole. Our sessions will be like "nutrition therapy" sessions. We will talk, we will troubleshoot, and we will develop aligned action plans for you to implement into your life and begin evolving in the ways necessary to support your highest good and overall well-being.
Your first session with Katherine
I always call the first session the "data collection" call. In this session, you can expect a lot of questions and a lot of space to share. We will discuss your current situation and struggles, your history with food and body image, the current status of your health and well-being, and your personal intentions and desires for our work together. At the end of the session, we will schedule our next appointment (as long as that is a step you want to take!) and define our first aligned action plan for you to begin implementing right away. Come comfy, bring a cozy blanket and cup of tea or whatever will support you in feeling most relaxed and yourself.
