About Katie

Hi I'm Katie! I'm a Registered Dietitian based out of Minneapolis, MN. I've worked across a wide range of areas in our always growing field! I started out as a Sports Dietitian working in collegiate football for 2 years at Iowa State University. Then, I made the jump into the NFL where I worked for a year & a half living out in Los Angeles! When I made the move back to the Midwest, I wanted to dive a little bit deeper into the nitty gritty of nutrition & decided to get my start in clinical nutrition in the hospital setting where I've been working for a year! When I'm not at work, I love going to the gym, baking, reading, binging Netflix, & trying new coffee shops around the area. But, I can't forget my fav hobby - hanging out with my cats, Phil & Tate! I've always been quite the yapper & absolutely love connecting with new people, chatting about anything & everything, & have a passion for helping people grow in their relationships with food and their relationships with themselves :)

Approach to care

I believe that eating should be fun. Food can be so many things - a social connector, a comfort, a medicine, and so much more! With all that being said, there is also so much food and diet noise out there. I approach nutrition counseling with a judgment free, compassionate, and accepting attitude and strive to create a space where my patients/clients feel safe, heard, and supported. I believe in a non-diet approach to living a healthy lifestyle that is individualized to YOU. Everybody has a different body and no two metabolisms are exactly the same! I work to really understand my patients, their situations, their beliefs, and their goals in order to build a program based on consistency, individuality, and sustainability :)

Your first session with Katie

In our first session, you can expect that we spend a good amount of time getting to know each other! I want to make sure that I am the right fit for you! In order to do that, it's important for me to understand why you are seeking out a Registered Dietitian, what your health and nutrition goals are, and what you need to feel as supported as possible! Additionally, we'll talk about what has worked for you in the past, what hasn't worked for you in the past, and what 12 weeks of working together will look like! By the end of our first session, we'll have a goal or two to work on before we meet again and expectations set for how we can help you reach (and stick to) your goals :) I'm so excited to create goals, watch you meet (and exceed!) them, and build the roadmap for real, sustainable changes :)
