About Katie
Hello! I'm Katie, a Registered Dietitian, Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management, and Certified Aquatic Fitness Professional with thirteen years of experience in nutrition and twelve years in fitness. I have worked in hospitals, clinics, a gym, public health and private practice. My specialties include weight management, weight loss, bariatrics (pre and post surgery), prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, intuitive/mindful eating, pre and postnatal nutrition, gut health, and sports nutrition. I help people rise above perceived obstacles by pointing out the positives in your choices, while focusing on big-picture goals with creative strategies for staying on track.
Approach to care
I collaborate with my clients and meet you where you are, ensuring the process in place is a sustainable journey you feel confident about. I help clients understand that fueling your body can be fun and creative, not rigid! Helping you reconnect with your innate ability to trust your body when it comes to food, where ALL foods can fit! I encourage baby-steps along the way to secure long-term changes. I am passionate about helping clients reconnect with their "why" when it comes to their health goals and moving away from an all-or-nothing mindset to a more flexible, sustainable rhythm.
Your first session with Katie
Our first session is tailored to you! We will dig deep into your health history, current lifestyle habits, medications, and complete a nutrition assessment. I want to really get to know you as a unique individual. We will review short and long-term health goals and the path we need to create to get there. At the end of the first session, we will discuss the best follow up plan including the number of visits needed and the plan in place to secure a confident road ahead. At each consecutive session, we will review the positives, any barriers and adjust the plan to fit you while moving forward!
