About Katie

I have gained a robust amount of experience while working over 13 years in the field of nutrition as a registered dietitian. I have an in depth knowledge of both nutrition and exercise science. My experience in nutrition includes working with many different types of individuals with different health goals, but my passion is working with active individuals and athletes. I enjoy working with individuals just starting to incorporate an active lifestyle but I also work with the avid runner or triathlete looking to improve their time in the next race or stay healthy. In addition to my work as a dietitian, I am a mom, wife, and I have been a runner for nearly 30 years. I know the struggles of juggling many things and trying to work on health goals all at the same time. I strive to provide a flexible and individualized approach with my clients.

Approach to care

I focus on the whole person and not only focus on nutrition, but also sleep, exercise, and stress. I am capable of helping my clients in a variety of ways including meal planning, workout/exercise plans, fueling for performance, improving gut health, or even optimizing health for longevity. I want my clients to feel safe and comfortable during our meetings. I always strive to provide personalized suggestions and work through barriers to help my clients achieve their goals and achieve long term success.

Your first session with Katie

In that first session, I want to get to know my client. I want to know about their habits, their goals, their "why" or why they decided to make an appointment with me, and of course, a general idea of their nutrition habits. I also like to get any other information that can be helpful including past medical history, labs or blood work, supplement info, or any other pertinent medical or health info. This first session is where I get to know my clients and start to get an idea of a good starting point. In this first appointment I feel like I am a bit of detective to put all of the pieces together to figure out how I can best help my client.
