About Katie
With over 10.5 years of experience as a clinical dietitian in the hospital setting, I’ve had the privilege of supporting people through some of their most challenging health moments. I’ve worked with a wide variety of medical concerns, including diabetes, heart failure, chronic kidney disease, weight management, and cancer, and I specialize in nutrition support (tube feeding) and treating malnutrition in medically complex patients.
Approach to care
While my clinical background is important, what matters most to me is you. I take a truly client-centered approach and believe that the best nutrition plan is one that fits into your real, everyday life. I want to get to know your routines, your preferences, and the obstacles you face, so we can create strategies that feel realistic and sustainable. I also believe that you should be in the driver’s seat of your health journey. I’ll meet you wherever you are in your readiness to make changes, and together we’ll set goals that feel comfortable and achievable for you. My role is to support, guide, and cheer you on—not to judge or overwhelm you. My hope is that working together feels empowering, encouraging, and tailored to what works best for your lifestyle.
Your first session with Katie
Your first appointment is all about getting to know you. We’ll chat about your life—your work, family, hobbies, and day-to-day routine—along with what you’d like to focus on and how you’re feeling about making changes right now. We’ll also talk about what you’ve tried in the past and what has or hasn’t worked for you. I’ll ask about a typical day of eating so I can understand your preferences and habits, not to judge, but to better support you. Before we wrap up, we’ll choose one or two small, realistic goals to work on before our next visit—at a pace that feels comfortable and encouraging for you.
Education
Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition, University of Wisconsin Madison. Bachelor of Science in Dietetics, University of Cincinnati.
Hobbies
When I’m not working, I love spending time with my two young children (ages 3 and 5), whether that’s playing, exploring, or just enjoying the everyday moments together. I also have a big love for musical theatre and enjoy staying active through dance fitness, which is one of my favorite ways to recharge, have fun, and take care of myself at the same time.
