About Kayla

Hi, I’m Kayla, an Advanced Practice Dietitian and Doctor of Clinical Nutrition with over 17 years of clinical experience helping families and individuals optimize their nutrition. My career spans clinical and hospital care, research and academia, and industry, which lets me blend evidence-based science with real-world practicality. I’m especially passionate about supporting new parents with general nutrition, lactation education, and have personal interest+experience in eating disorders and hormone/genetic/autoimmune disorders in women's health throughout the life-cycle. I cover pediatric nutrition related to GI disorders, NICU graduates, developmental disorders, inborn errors of metabolism, food allergies, post-surgical nutrition, or metabolic concerns. I also hold expertise in maternal health, high-risk pregnancies, adult surgical or GI conditions, tube-feeding/TPN, EDS, MCAS, and more. I’ll listen, learn, and meet you where you are with warmth and respect.

Approach to care

My care philosophy blends evidence-based science with a compassionate, collaborative approach. We’ll work together to translate current research into state-of-the-art and individualized nutrition interventions, with clear action plans and accountability. My care philosophy is focused on out-of-the-box, practical nutrition solutions that can realistically be incorporated into my patients' everyday lifestyle. My approach is holistic, considering sleep, stress, and family routines, and educational, so you leave each visit with knowledge you can use to make informed choices.

Your first session with Kayla

Our first appointment is a conversation about you, or you and your child, best ways of working together, and your personal goals/needs. We’ll review your medical history, discuss current feeding or nutrition routines, and set short-term goals that feel achievable. If you have lab results or biometrics, we’ll review those together and translate what they mean for your plan. We’ll establish how we’ll communicate and how often we’ll meet, so you know what to expect. If you are a parent, we will establish session and communication preferences that work for both you and your child. No need to have it all figured out yet; this is a collaborative space where you can show up as you are, and we’ll start from there with a couple of practical next steps.
