About Kayla

Hi! I'm Kayla! I love to joke that my life revolves around food! Not only am I a dietitian-nutritionist with over 15 years of experience, but also a farmer, recipe developer, and food writer. My husband and I grow beyond-organic vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers, as well as pastured eggs, chicken, and pork. I'm author international cookbook Garden to Table, which guides readers on how to grow, preserve, and prepare their food from seed to table! My favorite roles are as short order cook for my three daughters and serving my church family.

Approach to care

I work with clients to create a personalized, balanced approach to health that takes into account their unique physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. You can expect: 1. individualized and person-centered care, 2. an emphasis on whole foods, 3. discovering the mind-body connection, 4. guidance through lifestyle modifications to support your goals, 5. empowerment through research-based education, 6. a supportive and non-judgmental environment, and 7. a focus on long-term health and vitality. My approach is to cultivate a positive relationship with food, foster sustainable habits, and support overall well-being.

Your first session with Kayla

Our first session is a collaborative, compassionate, and thorough exploration of your unique health history, lifestyle, preferences, and goals. The session focuses not just on food, but on you as a whole person—taking into account emotional, psychological, and lifestyle factors that impact nutrition and health. The aim is to build a trusting relationship, provide initial education, and set realistic, achievable goals that promote long-term wellness.
