About Kayla

Hi I'm Kayla! I'm a registered dietitian from Georgia with over 9 years of experience. After getting my degree from Life University, I went on to work with WellStar, a major healthcare system, to aid in developing nutrition and wellness programs. I also served as an outpatient dietitian at WellStar Health Place, a medically based fitness center. In conjunction with this position, I spent many months providing nutrition counseling to the students of Kennesaw State University at their campus clinic. I have worked in telehealth for the past four years and worked remotely to teach diabetes prevention classes through a CDC approved program and provide one-on-one nutrition counseling.

Approach to care

I always lead with an evidence-based individualized approach. Healthy eating can look different for everyone and I want to help you find a place where you can live. You should never feel like you're on a diet and nothing we do should ever feel temporary. We are looking for long-lasting solutions to help you eat healthy for the rest of your life as well as maintain a good food relationship. Changing your lifestyle can take time, and that's why having someone in your corner and having accountability is the key to a person's success.

Your first session with Kayla

You can expect a warm welcome and friendly face! I know talking about your health can be scary, and I want to provide a safe space where you will feel heard, understood and cared for. In our first session I will be taking the time to get to know you and understand your goals and what you need from a dietitian-client relationship. I will learn about where you are now with your nutrition and where you want to go. We will also get you started with an initial plan which will include specific individualized goals. You'll always leave our sessions knowing what you're working on!

Hobbies

I'm a big nerd that also loves the outdoors! I do community musical theatre in my spare time as well as attend occasional gaming/costuming conventions and love reading on my balcony surrounded by my bird feeders and plants. Horseback riding has always been my first love and I could hike all day and every day! I also enjoy the relaxation of yoga and the confidence building of weight lifting.
