About Kella
I have been a registered dietitian for over 20 years. I have had opportunities to do many different things due to moving with my husband's job. I started in pediatrics and moved to trauma unit. After a few years in trauma, I then worked in long term care and hospital consulting for a while. I also have experience in mental health nutrition. I also have a certification in pediatric and adult weight management.
Approach to care
My approach to care is using everything in moderation. I prefer to help/teach people how to make the best decisions for themselves without limiting or taking things away. Involving the patient in their care is very important for success. I feel patients will be more likely to succeed if they are given choices in the matter.
Your first session with Kella
I like to begin with a history of the patient-I like to get to know my clients and their past experiences. We can then decide what the next steps should include and how to go about reaching them. I feel like knowing what has been tried previously will help us move along at a faster rate.
