About Kelsey
Hi! I’m Kelsey, a dietitian who believes that all foods can fit into a healthy lifestyle. I enjoy supporting young adults and adults who want to improve their heart health, manage their weight, or simply feel better through balanced eating. My background in acute care means I’m experienced in working with a variety of conditions, including congestive heart failure, diabetes, and GI concerns. One thing that shapes my approach is my time living in Ethiopia as a community health education volunteer. That experience deepened my understanding of how food is tied to culture, family, and identity. I’ll never ask you to give up the foods that are meaningful to you. Instead, I’ll help you find ways to keep your cultural favorites while still moving toward your health goals. Oh, and you might meet my German shepherd, Heidi, during our calls. She’s my best friend and she’s very good at moral support.
Approach to care
My approach is gentle, encouraging, and realistic. No crash diets, no guilt, and no unrealistic overnight changes. Instead, we’ll work together on small, achievable habits that add up to big, lasting results. I believe that food should be enjoyed, and I won’t tell you to eliminate foods you love (unless you have an allergy). Moderation, balance, and sustainable changes are the foundation of my work. I take more of a coaching role, helping you identify your own goals while providing guidance, structure, and encouragement along the way. I believe small habit changes, paired with realistic planning, lead to long-term success.
Your first session with Kelsey
Your first session is all about getting to know you. We’ll talk about your health history, your current eating habits, and your goals for the future. You’ll have plenty of space to share your challenges and ask questions. Together, we’ll start identifying small, realistic steps you can take right away. My goal is for you to leave that first appointment feeling heard, supported, and optimistic about the path ahead.
