About Kelsey
Hey there! I'm Kelsey, a Registered Dietitian who believes nutrition should work with your life, not against it. As an individual with type 1 diabetes, I quickly became aware of how nutrition largely influences health and quality of life. My diagnosis inspired me to pursue a deeper understanding of nutrition so I can help others like me. As a Registered Dietitian, I have worked with a diverse range of individuals, providing personalized nutrition care to achieve their health goals. Whether this is assisting with blood sugar maintenance, weight goals, nutrition throughout cancer treatment, or just overall health, I am here to discuss and problem-solve to find attainable steps to meet these goals. I have experience working in hospitals, meeting acute nutrition needs, and long-term care settings where I provided nutrition therapy for individuals with intellectual disabilities and rare genetic conditions.
Approach to care
My philosophy is "all foods fit". We live in a world that is loud with food noise. A quick Google search often provides so much nutrition information that is often contradictory. Guilt and shame are often terms I hear from clients when we first meet, when they have tried diet after diet with little success due to "cheating" on their diet. I truly believe that there is a balance that can be achieved with nutrition. Having the tools and support to make healthful decisions beneficial to one's health, and enjoying the food that makes you happy, without feeling guilt.
Your first session with Kelsey
When we first meet, we will discuss your nutrition goals. What do you want to achieve during our sessions? We will discuss medical history if relevant, current diet, and any past diets that have been trialed. If there is anything that worked well for you that you have tried previously, we can discuss how to integrate these methods to meet your nutrition goals. We will create realistic, sustainable changes that fit your lifestyle. My hope is for every client leaving our sessions to feel encouraged, confident, and empowered in their nutrition choices.
