About Kelsie
Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) at 17, I quickly learned the vital role food plays in our body's well-being. Understanding how food impacted my blood sugar led me to become a personal trainer and a Diabetes Care & Education Specialist. Now, I help others living with diabetes have those "aha" moments, where everything starts to click, and they can manage their condition effectively through diet, activity, mental health, and medication.
Approach to care
My approach centers on understanding what you, as my client, truly want. I see you as a person first, navigating life with diabetes. My goal is to empower you with a deep understanding of diabetes and teach you how to THRIVE. We'll go beyond just diet, exploring all 42 factors that influence blood sugar, as nutrition is just one piece of the puzzle.
Your first session with Kelsie
In your first session, expect in-depth questions about your lifestyle, from food and activity to hormone levels and stress managementāmajor contributors to blood sugar fluctuations. We'll leave with a clear understanding of what affects your blood sugar and a solid game plan. If time allows, I'll provide "homework," encouraging you to experiment and observe what works for you. We'll eliminate variables where possible and adjust where necessary to help you reach your life goals. Remember, you are more than your diabetes!
