About Kendra
Hello! I'm Kendra, a Registered Dietitian based in Portland, Oregon. I became a dietitian after being a school teacher where I noticed the tremendous impact food had on my studentsâ ability to learn and connect with others. Working in clinical, behavioral health, and eating disorder treatment settings as a dietitian for the last 7 years has shown me the negative impact diet culture has on peopleâs ability to trust themselves to do the thing we need to do to stay alive and thrive â eat. We are surrounded by conflicting messages about what we should or shouldnât eat, and how we should or shouldnât look. I am passionate about working with folx with eating disorders, disordered eating, body image issues, neurodivergence, co-occurring mental health diagnoses, and anyone who wants a better relationship with food. Iâll help you find strategies that are realistic, sustainable, and lead you to a fulfilling life! That may sound cheesy, but I AM a dietitian⊠and cheese is delicious.
Approach to care
While I am a nutrition expert who can support with evidence-based nutrition information, I believe that each individual is the expert of their own food and body journey. My role is to meet you where youâre at and provide individualized care based on whatâs important to YOU. My care philosophy centers on collaboration, curiosity, and meaningful change. My approach is holistic and rooted in Health at Every Size, Trauma Informed Nutrition, anti-diet, intuitive eating, and weight inclusive lenses.
Your first session with Kendra
Our first session is all about YOU. We'll review your medical history before exploring your relationship with food, your food preferences, your routines, and your goals in a supportive, nonjudgmental space. You don't need to have it all figured out yet; we'll talk about what matters most to you and identify 1â2 realistic steps to begin with. By the end, you'll feel understood, supported, and clear about the path weâll take together. I'm excited to work with you!
