About Kristan
Hello! My name is Kristan and I've been a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist since 2016. I started my career as a clinical dietitian working in the hospital and outpatient clinics. I worked with a wide range of people from those living with diabetes, heart disease, and IBS before specializing in solid organ transplant nutrition. Three years ago I shifted my focus to school nutrition and helping schools serve nutrient-dense foods to children. I have a passion for nutrition and wellness throughout the lifespan. There's never a wrong time to focus on your health, nutrition, and wellness and I'd like to help!
Approach to care
I would describe my approach as person-centered. What each of us needs is very individualized and what works for one person may not work for another. Food is integral to our cultures, health, memories, families, friends, and beyond. I listen to your needs as an individual and support you in achieving your personal health goals, preferably through small, sustainable steps! My passion lies in helping you, meeting you where you're at, lending a helping hand, and working together to meet your goals.
Your first session with Kristan
In your first session, we will complete a comprehensive assessment that dives into many different aspects of your health, such as medical history, food and nutrition habits, current nutrition knowledge, sleep, activity level, stress, etc. This includes past experiences with managing your health and wellness and what successes or challenges that you have had. We'll discuss what habits are and how they form and lean into your personal life experiences to form an individualize pathway to achieving your goals through the formation of new habits! By the end of your session, you will have created actionable steps to work on until your next session.
