About Kristen

I've been a registered dietitian for 12 years and also had the pleasure of being credential as a dietitian in Australia! I started at a hospital in Texas where I taught nutrition, fitness, and other wellness-related classes. I also saw individuals for nutrition counselling for a variety of issues including diabetes, pre-diabetes, weight loss, and disordered eating. I also did sports nutrition for the Houston Dynamo, the Houston Ballet, and Rice University. I then moved to Australia where I worked in private practice doing disordered eating and eating disorders and became credentialed as an eating disorder dietitian through the ANZAED. I have since returned to the US and joined Nourish!

Approach to care

My approach to care comes from my own history of disordered eating and my desire to see others experience the freedom that comes from establishing a healthy relationship with food. I have compassion and empathy for your struggles, and I work hard to create a welcoming environment where you will feel comfortable sharing deeply personal things.

Your first session with Kristen

My top priority in our first session is for you to feel welcomed and comfortable. I will ask what you'd like to get out of our time together and assess where you're starting from. If you're ready for some initial changes, then we'll set some goals. While I want to move to action-based goals as soon as possible, these aren't always appropriate in our first session. If we don't get to goals in our first session, we will do so at our first follow-up.
