About Kristin
Hi! My name is Kristin and I became a dietitian because I love eating food and talking about food! I've been teaching people how to improve their diets and overall health for roughly 15 years and I enjoy helping people reach their goals! For the most part, I practice what I preach regarding nutrition and balanced eating; but I am no stranger to ice cream or pizza either. I also like to share that I lost 70 lbs 5 years ago through diet and exercise, and have been able to keep it off, so I do know how hard it can be. There is so much nutrition information out there that it can be confusing, but I'll help simplify it and facilitate you through your health and wellness journey!
Approach to care
I like to meet you where you are at. For example, if you don't like salad, that's fine, we can come up with other alternatives to getting similar nutrients. Or maybe you have never exercised before and get minimal steps in a day. I'm not going to have you start walking 10,000 steps daily, but rather, we will start somewhere that you can maintain. I will not make you do a 180 of your current diet because that is not maintainable. So instead, we will work together to come up with a few goals that you feel you can be successful in reaching. Each visit we will expand on the goals!
Your first session with Kristin
We will start with brief introductions and getting to know each other. We will then discuss your overall goals and what you hope to accomplish. After, I will ask you about your current eating habits and lifestyle and any other info that may be useful for me to know (working, kids, injuries, support systems that you have etc.). We will then come up with realistic, manageable, achievable goals to work on to start reaching your previously stated goals!
