About Laura
While originally from New York, Laura has been living in Seattle, WA for the past 6 years. She's a mix of the fast paced East Coast vibes combined with the PNW love for the outdoors. Laura is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) by training, with a Master of Public Health Nutrition from the University of Washington. She has the scientific knowledge of not only how specific nutrients impact our health, but also how the adequate or inadequate intake of nutrients affect our overall well being.
Approach to care
Laura recognizes that everyone has a unique lived experience, especially when it comes to food, and so you won't find a one size fits all solution here! Laura practices from a weight neutral perspective and assists her clients in finding ways to nourish and move their bodies despite what the numbers on the scale say (or ideally, not looking at the scale at all!). Laura works alongside you to discover and let go of any old beliefs about your body, food, and exercise that are no longer serving you. Together, we create new, empowering beliefs that enable you to feel confident, embodied, and at ease in your body and in your relationship with food.
Your first session with Laura
Laura uses the first session as a time to get to know you and how she can best support you. Laura asks questions with the intention of understanding your pertinent medical history, your desires and goals and current challenges in reaching those goals. With that information, Laura will share a general roadmap for our future sessions and how we will reach your desired goals. Generally, Laura will meet with individuals once per week to start. Based on the information discussed in the session, Laura will answer any questions you have and assist in setting achievable goals or action items to be completed by the next session.

Hobbies
When not working as a dietitian, I'm usually hanging out with my best pal, Gouda, her cattle dog rescue. Together we spend most of our time getting outside hiking, biking, or skiing. When the weather's bad, Laura loves to learn a new arts & craft hobby, cook dinner with her friends, or cozy up with a good book.
