About Laura

Since becoming a registered dietitian 5 years ago, Laura has jumped right into private practice, counseling hundreds of patients on balanced nutrition principles, disordered eating recovery, intuitive and mindful eating, and fitness/performance nutrition. As a former athlete, Laura is particularly passionate about providing nutrition counseling for active individuals who may be struggling with eating disorders (orthorexia, binge eating), emotional eating, or issues related to under-fueling and over-exercising (hypothalamic amenorrhea, RED-S).

Approach to care

When working with patients, Laura utilizes a holistic counseling style that focuses on sustainable behavior changes to enhance mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Working together, Laura guides patients to reach their health and fitness goals while improving their relationship with food. Laura empowers patients to build trust and connection with their body, make balanced, nourishing meals, cope with emotional eating, and navigate tough situations around food like traveling and eating out.

Your first session with Laura

We'll begin with a comprehensive initial assessment during which we'll discuss your goals and explore your medical history, as well as your current and past eating and exercise habits. We'll delve into your relationship with food throughout your life and consider lifestyle factors such as hydration, sleep and stress. Laura is passionate about providing individualized care, so it's essential for her to collect all relevant data. Following each session, you'll receive a recap that includes important notes from the day's call, along with a detailed outline of the steps to take and resources (handouts, exercises, etc.) to assist you as needed.
