About Laura
I'm Laura, and I am so glad you are here. I’ve spent years helping people navigate diabetes, manage weight, and improve their metabolic health. A little about me: I grew up on a century-old family farm in eastern Iowa, surrounded by hogs, cattle, sheep, corn and soybeans. My summers revolved around tending a big garden, picking from fruit trees, and hours of canning with my mom and grandma, which set the foundation for my love of food and health. Today I’m on a mission to help women of all ages feel strong, confident, and in control of their health. My passion lies in supporting women in midlife, when the “rules” around nutrition, exercise, and self-care suddenly seem to change. This interest led me to become a Certified Menopause Coaching Specialist. I enjoy helping women in peri- and post-menopause build sustainable habits, manage symptoms, and navigate weight changes. If this is you, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself.
Approach to care
I will work with you on various health and wellness objectives. I believe that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition and wellness. Instead, I strive to create a personalized care plan that suits each individual. I blend evidence-based nutrition with modern technology and whole-person care — including exercise, sleep, stress management, and hormone-aware strategies — to help you reconnect with you body and feel empowered no matter what age you are. I am also very knowledgeable in using continuous glucose monitors as a tool in assessing glucose and metabolic health. My goal is to give you the knowledge, tools, and confidence to work with your body instead of fighting it.
Your first session with Laura
The goal for the first session is to really just get to know each other. I will ask about your lifestyle, medical and nutrition history, current eating and exercise patterns, learn about your sleep and stress levels, and what you hope to get out of meeting with a dietitian. By the end of the first session you will walk away with ideas you can start on right away to help your achieve your goals.
