About Laura
HI THERE!!!! Thanks for looking at my profile to see if we would be a good match. I truly look forward in supporting you! A little bit about me, I have been a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist for over 20 years (that doesn't make me old, just experienced!) I am a busy mother of three, wife of my high school sweetheart, and a Wisconsin farm girl who is rooted in a strong faith and works full time as a registered dietitian in a K12 setting most days and at night I get to help people individually like YOU! I simply love to serve and help others be empowered by nutrition, fitness and healthy lifestyle choices. Thanks for popping in to see if we might work well together. PS - If you want to have your appointment walking with me, please feel free to walk outside and I'll pop on my walking pad so it can be a comfortable walk, learn/grow, have fun and talk!
Approach to care
In short, my approach is fun, personalized, scientifically grounded, and focused on long-term health. My joy and job is to help you aim to develop sustainable habits that improve both your nutrition and overall well-being. I will bring my balanced, professional yet motherly approach to care. Please know, I might be a dietitian, but I, too, have taste buds, love chocolate and my family that brings lots of responsibilities. Simply put, I get it! My favorite part is being positive and your cheerleader, full of enthusiasm, but grounded in life's responsibilities and nutritional science.
Your first session with Laura
1. Assessment - I will ask about your health history, eating habits, physical activity, and any specific health goals (e.g., weight loss, managing diabetes). Who are you? How can I help? What can I do to provide you with the best care possible? 2. Dietary Education - Based on your information, I will provide initial guidance on nutrition, meal planning, portion control, and how to meet your health goals. 3. Setting Goals/Personalized Plan - You'll work together to set realistic and achievable goals, such as reducing sugar intake or increasing vegetables in your diet. 4. Support and Follow-up - Expect a plan for follow-up appointments to track progress and adjust the plan as needed.
