About Laura
Helping people repair their relationship with food is why I do this work. I have five years of experience as a registered dietitian and completed an MA in Nutrition Science and Dietetics, and I practice with RD and CDN credentials. My path has included clinical hospital care, long-term care, eating disorder residential and partial hospitalization programs, and private practice. Outside of work in Rochester, New York, I recharge by hiking, backpacking, camping, reading, and traveling. I focus on sustainable, intuitive approaches to help you step away from chronic dieting without shame.
Approach to care
Science guides what I recommend, and your life guides how we use it. I combine evidence-based strategies with the 10 principles of Intuitive Eating and a HAES-aligned, weight-neutral lens so we focus on behaviors and wellbeing rather than the scale. We'll work together in a warm, nonjudgmental way, translating research into clear, practical steps you can sustain. Education and accountability are part of the process, so you'll gain tools and understanding that help create long-term, realistic change.
Your first session with Laura
Expect a relaxed, judgment-free conversation where we'll review your medical history and briefly explore your relationship and history with food. We'll talk through any long-term goals you have, and together we'll identify one or two small, realistic steps to get started. You don't need all the answers before we meet. My aim is to make the visit informative and reassuring, so you'll leave feeling heard and with a clear, manageable direction we can build on.
