About Laura

Laura is a registered dietitian with over 20 years of experience in a variety of areas including nutrition for diabetes, prediabetes, cardiovascular (heart) disease, and cancer. As a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, she has specialized training to help you learn how to manage diabetes and prediabetes. She is passionate about helping people prevent chronic conditions by using nutrition to improve blood pressure, fatty liver, elevated blood lipids and blood sugar. While Laura enjoys working with all adults, she has a special interest in working with women during midlife, using nutrition and other lifestyle changes to help manage challenges that can arise during this time.

Approach to care

Laura works with each unique person to understand their nutrition and health goals, their likes, dislikes, medical history, and lifestyle and help them work toward sustainable changes that are realistic and achievable, not a one size fits all diet approach. Laura believes that her biggest successes as a dietitian have come when she has helped a client feel so confident in their nutrition knowledge and ability that she works herself out of a job!

Your first session with Laura

Laura will get to know you and learn about your reason for meeting with a dietitian as well as your preferences, lifestyle, and health history. She can then work with you to develop a plan to reach your goals and decide on realistic steps to put the plan into action.
