About Laura

As a registered dietitian with over 25 years experience working in hospitals, community health programs, and private practices, I bring a broad perspective to nutrition care here in Austin, Texas. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and practice as an RDN (Registered Dietitian Nutritionist) and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. When I'm not with patients you'll find me hiking, running, or catching live music. I also love reading and I'm a huge basketball fan!

Approach to care

Nutrition should fit your life, not the other way around. Rooted in current research, I use evidence-based guidance and clear, practical steps to help you build lasting habits in a warm, nonjudgmental space. We'll focus on behaviors and whole-person wellbeing, considering sleep, stress, movement, and emotions. I blend empathetic support with direct, educational coaching so you leave each visit with knowledge and realistic next steps you can sustain. My ultimate goal is to teach you sustainable skills so you will eventually feel so confident that you don't need a dietitain!

Your first session with Laura

Every initial visit includes a thorough nutrition assessment where we'll review medical history, nutrition history, lifestyle, and any labs or biometrics you can share. We'll talk about what matters to you, set short-term achievable goals, and prioritize practical steps you can try between visits. I will help translate the assessment into doable, sustainable habits so progress feels steady and realistic, not overwhelming.
