About Lauren
I have been a registered dietitian since 2012 and I'm very passionate about helping people meet their nutritional needs. I have vast experience in helping folks reach their weight goal, whether that be weight loss or weight gain. My experience also includes prenatal, cardiac, renal, diabetes, cancer, food allergies, celiac disease, gut health, tube feeding, and anti-inflammatory nutrition. My nutrition knowledge has developed through years of working for a large hospital system in both the in-patient and out-patient settings. My expertise includes managing multiple medical conditions and tailoring nutrition recommendations to best meet the needs of each individual.
Approach to care
My approach to care includes following the nutrition care process and providing clear, easy to comprehend education on nutrition recommendations. Helping patients through the process of behavior change is a strong part my care style as well. I am also an advocate of intuitive eating and encourage my patients to approach nutrition as realistic changes that are sustainable and enhance their quality of life.
Your first session with Lauren
During the first session, I want to know the reason for the visit, nutrition questions wanting to discuss, and what they hope to achieve from the visit. We will spend time collecting a nutritional history which includes current dietary intake patterns, previous diets followed, weight changes, food allergies and intolerances, gut health issues, medications and supplements. We will then move onto the nutrition education portion of the visit. The visit will end with setting nutrition goals together and scheduling a follow-up visit. I want to hear how things are going with my patient's nutrition journey and discuss any challenges encountered. Nutrition goals will be modified to reach the desired outcome.
