About Lauren
Hi! I'm Lauren. For over 20 years, I've provided nutrition counseling to clients in-person and virtually across the country. I've worked in various specialties, including diabetes care, prenatal and postpartum health, sports nutrition, general wellness, and cardiac rehabilitation. However, most of my clients have been focused on weight loss, whether through healthy diet changes, bariatric surgery, or weight-loss medication. My experience has certainly sharpened my skills in managing complex health issues, but my clients have taught me the most valuable lessons: everyone's needs are unique, flexibility is key, and there are many paths to the same goal.
Approach to care
All depends on you. Some clients are excited to dive in on day one with a targeted action plan. Others are more hesitant, lacking confidence or feeling apprehensive about what changes might be asked of them. The reality is that changing your eating habits is hardāI know! So I will never insist on anything you aren't ready for. My mantra is always "progress, not perfection." Small, consistent adjustments can lead to big changes over time. We will work together to find what adjustmentsābig or smallāfit your motivation level, preferences, and daily life.
Your first session with Lauren
The first session is all about getting to know you. I want to understand what brought you here and what your short- and long-term goals are. We'll discuss your medical history, eating habits, and lifestyle. We'll also explore what has made it difficult to achieve your health goals in the past and create a plan to overcome those challenges. I'll highlight any resources at Nourish that can support your progress and make sure you feel comfortable using them. Finally, we'll outline the plan moving forward and answer any questions you may have.
