About Lauren

Helloooo there! My name is Lauren and I am PROUD dietitian with a passion for motivating, educating, and counseling others! I love to help clients crush their personal goals, achieve a more nutritious diet, get to that "a-HA!" moment when it comes to understanding the rationale behind recommendations, and adopt healthier lifestyle habits overall! In addition to Nourish, I work full-time as an outpatient clinical dietitian with the Department of Veterans Affairs, which is truly an honor and a privilege! I strongly believe in following a whole health approach and I always strive to provide the very best individualized care. If you're looking for someone to help you make sense of all of the nutrition advice that you may have seen or been given in the past, or for someone to assist with brainstorming ways to make sustainable changes, all while bringing the energy and positive vibes to each and every session together - look no further! I am your girl! :)

Approach to care

Of course, nutrition is so, so important. Contrary to sometimes popular belief, it should not follow a "one size fits all" kind of approach. Different things work for different people! With that in mind, it is CRUCIAL for you to find a dietitian who you jive with (I certainly do hope that it's me, but if not, hey, all good!), and for the advice given to not only be appropriate, but to be well explained AND able to work for you and your unique circumstances, whatever they may be. At the end of the day, please remember that healthy eating should be FUN (and most certainly not a chore or anything to ever dread or feel guilty about).I will get off my soapbox and leave you with one of my favorite quotes: "To eat is a necessity, but to eat intelligently is an art." -François de la Rochefoucald

Your first session with Lauren

My hope is that our first session will be a total breeze! I love to start by getting to know you better, hearing about all of the yummy things you're eating throughout the day, and of course discussing what you'd like to get out of our sessions together. From there, we move on to some education, and can we discuss whatever it is you'd like to focus on or learn more about. If goal setting motivates you, we can set one or two, and then we call it a day! I am a big advocate of not trying to bite off more than can be chewed and with that being said, I do my very best to not hit you with a firehose of information right off the bat. My hope is to help build your knowledge and self-efficacy to new heights, but I am a firm believer that good things do take time. I aspire for you to leave our first session feeling excited, more educated, and well-supported throughout this wonderful journey. As always, I am here to cheer you on and answer any questions that you may have!
