About Lauren
Hi there! My name is Lauren, your supportive and empathetic dietitian. I hold a degree in Nutrition Science from California State University, Los Angeles, and became a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) in December 2023. My clinical experience includes working with both inpatient and outpatient populations, with a particular focus on weight management and diabetes. Before pursuing a career in nutrition, I worked in the fashion industry and spent several years modeling. That journey deeply shaped my understanding of body image and ultimately inspired my passion for helping others develop a healthier, more compassionate relationship with food. As a career changer, I bring fresh perspective, dedication, and a deep sense of purpose to the field. I’m driven to make a positive impact by supporting individuals on their path to wellness through the healing power of nutrition.
Approach to care
In my practice, I believe in embracing balance over restriction. Health and happiness can coexist, and I truly believe that joy is just as essential as any nutrient. My role is to gently remind you that your wellness journey doesn't have to feel overwhelming or intimidating. The truth is, the "secret ingredient" has always been within you—rooted in your own values, experiences, and strength. You're not here to chase perfection; you're here to make meaningful, lasting progress towards healthy nutrition habits.
Your first session with Lauren
Our first session is all about getting to know you and your relationship with food. We'll start with a conversation about your medical history and any relevant health concerns, followed by a 24-hour food recall to help me get a better snapshot of your current eating patterns and daily routines. From there, we’ll explore some personalized nutrition education together. This part of the session is designed to not only empower you with helpful, science-based information, but also to give me insight into your current level of nutrition knowledge. To wrap up our time together, we’ll collaborate on setting a few small, realistic goals that feel achievable and aligned with your lifestyle. As your dietitian, my goal is to ensure you feel informed, motivated, and at ease by the end of our session. Food is our joy, and your nutrition journey should feel the same. I'll be there to cheer you on and support you along the way.
